What are some of the things that every heart craves for?
Some love and a little respect, sometimes even from strangers. Simple, isn’t it? Where I come from, this quality is intricately woven into us. Of course, I’m not saying we are perfect. But it is more likely for you to fall in love with us and our country because we carry our heart on our sleeves. And if reciprocated, we aren’t afraid to go that extra mile.
There is so much about India really which makes it a country unlike any other. But do you know what I love the most about it? It’s heart. Yes, it’s loving and caring heart.
You just cannot come to this vibrant country and not form a deep bond with it. British Airways has stood testimony to this very fact, loving India back for the past 90 years fueled by mutual respect and adoration. They know how to take care of Indians. They know what touches our hearts and in doing that they sometimes form rapports which last a lifetime, sometimes even more.
What comes to your mind when you see the video?
There are so many takeaways, right? It’s heartwarming, touching and filled with love. We Indians are made that way. A slight gesture of care is all that takes for you to become a part of our lives, for us to form a deep bond with you. And then all we want is to give more and more in return, maybe at times even bury you with our love and adulation. Yes, we can be overbearing that way but that’s just us trying to do everything in our capacity for you.
Just like the British air hostess in this video, you are bound to be swept away by India’s charm. All you need to do is take that one step forward; respect, care and acknowledge us and we’ll be all yours.
British Airways knows India well and why not, they have shared a long relationship with us, just 10 years short of a century. So, they know our pressure points well, they also know how to customize their services for us. Most importantly they know we are suckers for love and respect. And because they care, today there is a burgeoning relationship between them and their Indian customers. See, how far putting a little heart into what you do can take you?
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everything we did in life was fueled by love? Yes, the one strong reason behind everything we do.
The video above speaks volumes about how genuine, caring gestures if used as the backbone in any industry can form lasting relationships and be beneficial to everyone involved. It’s the little things that make the difference really. Everyone works to mark the right check boxes, it’s the ones who go above and beyond who make the lasting impression. And when that extra mile is adorned with love, it builds mutual respect and a symbiotic, lasting relationship.
Robert A. Heinlein said love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own. Once that becomes our guiding principle, every moment becomes a revelation.
I love the positivity in the post….long live BA!
Beautiful post, Nabanita!
Simple gestures. A smile, a hug…simple gestures. How difficult is it? Sweet post Naba.
I totally agree… its a lovely video and holds such a beautiful sentiment that we should all be focusing upon.
My three week visit to India impacted me deeply. And in the end, love is all we need. That is the bottom line of life

When I used to do a lot of US-India-US back and forth traveling, sometime twice a year, BA was one of my preferred airlines. The video is obviously a tad bit mushy for my taste, but then I understand it is an advertising campaign so can't blame them 🙂
I love the video it's sweet and warm and touching. It makes me feel good about India and Indians.
I loved the video. It made me gooey and sentimental too as you will read in my post. Love the things it celebrates about India.
So well said, Nabanita! And so true! Beautiful post!

It would certainly be a much better world if all our actions were fuelled by love. That video is so touching, isn't it?
Did they (BA) return Sachin a bag?
It would be, wouldn't it? 🙂
I guess only Sachin can answer that 🙂
