Traffic jams in Bangalore,or for that matter in any other city, needs no introduction or elucidation….Its like a sea of vehicles out there every day, each scrambling to out run the other by road or even through the footpath….There are of-course predominantly 2 kinds of species in this arena of traffic, the four wheeled creature and of-course the Machiavellian two wheeled monster…Of the two, my ire is directed towards the two wheeled punk….Why? Because I represent what is left of a vanishing race, and that is the PEDESTRIAN…. and because the latter has invaded my safety net-THE FOOTPATH…
“Sense” of any kind seems to be missing from these nut-heads who feel like the owners of the world on these machines called “BIKES”….They seem to think that the FOOTPATH is their own backyard and people walking on them trespassers…NEWS FLASH Dear Bikers—the sidewalk is for those who are not on wheels and instead use their own feet to go from one place to the other….It is for the “FOOT-WALKERS”.
While the signal turns green every vehicle tries to VROOOMMMMMMMMM its way ahead of the other, the two wheeler owners who absolutely lack patience of any kind do that by shushing n pushing the pedestrians and he is never even apologetic about it…I fail to understand why these people lack basic road etiquette…They honk at us pedestrians and accommodating as we are,we move, giving way to these drivers from heaven… I am not aware if there is a law or not forbidding bikers on footpaths but isn’t it but obviously understood…?? Do we have to go out of the way to tell you guys to keep off whatever little space available for us to walk safely….!!??
In a nutshell,if you want to use the sidewalk, then you are welcome but without your ALLOY FRIEND….Please use the road for your honking and overtaking pursuits….
Naba,
There is a law which forbids Bikers or any two wheeled driver to honk on footpath. Also there is a Fine of 250 bucks if caught. 🙂
BTW, do not try creating a perception just bcoz of sm restless fellow. I am dring from 9th std and have never drove on footpath. haan if the pedestrain block the roads on signal just to cross over, than no harm in blowing horns on their head. 😛
To each their own…I wrote based on my experience, and you will surely have ur own…m not forcing any perceptions on any1 🙂
