Yes, I need not illustrate further how headlines such as these are commonplace in newspapers and in red tickers appearing in news channels.  We may certainly recall having heard from the elderly that the world is a dangerous place but to this extent; perhaps that was something we had never fathomed. It goes without saying that hazards in life do not distinguish between a man and a woman. True, but the perils that lurk behind the shadows to gobble down a girl are far too many to even mention.
It is true that in this century women in no way lag behind their opposite sex. But whether we like it or not, physically women might not be as strong as they would like to be. This is one area when we more often than not fall short in comparison to men. But that is how we are hence there is no use fighting that, isn’t it? But that should not be an impediment in the way of us taking care of our safety which is very imperative if we need to lead a carefree life. Hence, the undisputed need for Self Defence training for Girls.
Prevention is better than cure; yes the familiar aphorism is unquestionably true when it comes to warding off untoward incidents. We need to make every effort to ensure that we are proactive in our outlook when it comes to safety.

  13. U know what, our backward culture says that a girl should be at home, not work, wear decent clothes n all…Sheila Dixit once said Girls should not venture alone at night. She forgot the nature of the work of a journalist. A lawyer in Mumbai was recently raped& killed by the building watchman! Families need to be educated about the importance of self defense.If its a cooking class, families wud always encourage girls to join it, but if its a self defense class, they never encourage girls for it.Ridiculous!…..A good inspiring post u wrote Nabanita..

  26. Very true, Most often when a bystander takes the courage to stand tall whether male or female, the so called roadside romeos buckle down. Make some noise.create some ruckus. The romeos can be defeated physically or psychologically.!!!
