If there is one thing I dislike about my day at work, it would be the calls. Yes, it’s true. Alright it’s just one of the things I abhor about my workplace but that’s another topic altogether. Fact is you have no idea how much these people in the IT Industry love calls. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if one day we end up having lunch too through phones, such is the penchant here for being on calls! You probably think that this is an exaggeration but trust me it’s not. With so many unwanted work calls throughout the day, mixed with those from banks and credit card companies it wouldn’t be wrong to say that a day devoid of a phone call becomes a rare gift. Actually I’ve never been one of those who love being on calls for hours. In fact, when S and I were in college we hardly ever were on call. While every other couple was virtually on call 24 X 7, we preferred SMSes. So, no prizes for guessing that SMS and now WhatsApp are what I’m more comfortable with. Thus, you can very well imagine how Quikr NXT is in tune with my likes and dislikes.

With Quikr NXT I don’t have to take unwanted calls. In fact, I can deal with prospective buyers and sellers only through chat which gives me the option to keep my number secret. And as you very well know it is not possible through calls. Now that makes chatting very tempting for me because honestly I don’t want my number to end up with another telemarketer. While most of the buyers and sellers could very well be genuine, there is always the risk of your number ending up where you don’t really want it to. So the fact that I can chose to keep my number private while chatting is one of the highlights of Quikr NXT undoubtedly.
Now as I said before that I’m not much of an on-call person, I love the fact that all deals can be discussed on chat. And with chat comes flexibility. How? Well, whether it is a prospective service provider, buyer or seller, I can get it touch with them at my own convenience. Yes, I can reply to them when I want to and if I want to. With so much to do in a single day having the luxury of fixing services, whether quoting price or sharing pictures of products, on my own terms with respect to time and place is incredibly appealing to me. If I had to do all of these through calls, this wouldn’t really have been possible. Also such calls would invariably take place during my work hours making it a hindrance.

Another aspect that, along with the above two, makes chatting trump calls is that it is so much easier to track every discussion with a buyer or seller through it. Imagine having to recall every conversation or quoted price for a service. Quite arduous most of the times, right? But with Quikr NXT it is possible to track every chat without making it a strenuous task. Yes, and this because every conversation is available at a glance. With phone calls it’s not really possible unless you have an eidetic memory, which I certainly don’t.
So these are the reasons why I would prefer using Quikr NXT and conducting any sort of dealings through chat. So yes privacy, easy to recall conversations and the fact that I can do it at my own convenience. Tell me what youthink about Quikr NXT and what aspect of it appeals more to you? I am not much of a call person, I prefer chatting too. And I agree that IT employers love having discussions over calls-status calls, defect review calls 🙂
