Well this seems to be the season of reviewing shampoos for me! So here I am with yet another review; this time of the new Dove Split End Rescue System. If you would have read my rants about my hair you would probably know by now that I have hair that causes me worry and costs me a lot of money too! Split ends are certainly an integral part of my tresses’ sob story!
I keep searching for products with a Magical Touch; yes an elixir that would wash away all my hair woes. Every product has its own speciality. All the problems of my hair unfortunately cannot be solved by a single product hence my treasure hunt always continues. While a certain product turns out to be good at maintaining my chemical straightening; another product helps in making my hair soft. While one product is good at washing away the oil from my hair without having to apply a lot of it; another product is good for giving it shine. Yes, what I mean to say is that there is not one particular solution for me unfortunately. Of-course, my experimenting with different products can be debatable but then a girl’s got to try!
So when I tried Dove Split End Rescue System it was with the sole intention to see if my split ends actually reduce! There was a time when I would braid my hair a lot. It was during the carefree school days when I hadn’t yet destroyed my hair with chemical treatment. Those days the braids looked good enough for the ends never looked unhealthy. I never really had the problem of split ends until I moved away from home. Hostel life does this to you and I was no exception. Maintaining healthy hair wasn’t my cup of tea. I ended up going to salons which led me where I am today. One of the side effects of neglecting my hair during hostel life and giving in to the parlour cycle resulted in split ends; yes another addition to my already frizzy and curly hair conundrum.
Did Dove Split End Rescue System reduce my split ends? Well let’s unravel that question bit by bit. I have only used it for a week now and here is what I found out. First of all the shampoo is very good to be used when you have oiled your hair. Yes, I found that out of all the shampoos I have tried in the recent past, which by the way is around four, Dove Split End Rescue System has been able to wash off all the oil without having to empty half of it. Secondly, I like the scent it leaves on my hair long after the wash. Dove has always scored in that department anyways! Thirdly, the verdict on most important point of all, the split ends. Well, since I have only used it for a week and in that too only twice for I try not to wash my hair that often, I can say that there has been slight improvement. So that’s a positive sign.
So all the beautiful ladies out there, the Dove Split End Rescue System is surely worth a try. Give it a try or rather wash your hair with it and see if you feel good about your tresses too!
