Some Quotes On Fathers For Father’s Day

Father’s Day is just around the corner, a day to celebrate a daughter’s first love and a son’s first football mate. I don’t know about you but as I get older, I’m beginning to find the concept of singling out one day in a year as a reminder to celebrate and thank someone special, wonderful. God knows we need that with the kind of lives we lead. Anyway, so it’s father’s day and you must be wondering what to give your fathers?

But the question really should be, what can we give the man who has probably made us all that we are, all that we can be and will be in our lives? I don’t think that anything we give can ever measure up to what our fathers have done for us and keep doing every moment of every day.

I have been blessed with a wonderful father, my Baba, who has given me a chance at a good life, a happy life. And I’m also lucky to see that my daughter has the same kind of father in my husband. So often we talk about mothers that we forget how integral the part of fathers is in children’s lives. I think more than any gift, a father needs love, care, and acknowledgment. The knowledge that the children he has worked hard his whole life for will never leave him alone. And that I think is the greatest gift we can give to our fathers on father’s day and every day. Be there and love them.

Think about it.

Now, I shall leave you with some wonderful quotes on fathers which you could use on cards or even inscribe on DIY gifts for them.

Some quotes on fathers

“Sometimes I think my papa is an accordion. When he looks at me and smiles and breathes, I hear the notes.” ― Markus Zusak, The Book Thief

“The heart of a father is the masterpiece of nature.” ― Antoine François Prévost, Manon Lescaut

“To be the father of growing daughters is to understand something of what Yeats evokes with his imperishable phrase ‘terrible beauty.’ Nothing can make one so happily exhilarated or so frightened: it’s a solid lesson in the limitations of self to realize that your heart is running around inside someone else’s body. It also makes me quite astonishingly calm at the thought of death: I know whom I would die to protect and I also understand that nobody but a lugubrious serf can possibly wish for a father who never goes away.” ― Christopher Hitchens, Hitch 22: A Memoir

“There is nothing that moves a loving father’s soul quite like his child’s cry.” ― Joni Eareckson Tada

“The monsters are gone.”

“Really?” Doubtful.

“I killed the monsters. That’s what fathers do.”

― Fiona Wallace

“A father’s tears and fears are unseen, his love is unexpressed, but his care and protection remain as a pillar of strength throughout our lives.” ― Ama H. Vanniarachchy

“Fathers and daughters have a special bond.

She is always daddy’s little girl.” ― Richard L. Ratliff

“The best fathers have the softest, sweetest hearts. In other words, great dads are real marshmallows.” ― Richelle E. Goodrich, Slaying Dragons

“To a father growing old nothing is dearer than a daughter”- Euripides

“A father is only capable of giving what he has, and what he knows. A good father gives all of himself that is good.” ― Vincent Carrella

“Fathers, be good to your daughters. You are the god and the weight of her world.” ― John Mayor

“All fathers are invisible in daytime; daytime is ruled by mothers and fathers come out at night. Darkness brings home fathers, with their real, unspeakable power. There is more to fathers than meets the eye.” ― Margaret Atwood

“It was my father who taught me to value myself. He told me that I was uncommonly beautiful and that I was the most precious thing in his life.” ― Dawn French

Well, that’s all I have for today. Wish you a happy father’s day. Let’s celebrate these wonderful men in our lives!

  1. Such beautiful quotes… It just occurred to me that I have hardly read quotes on celebrating fatherhood. Fathers are just as much enotionally involved as mothers are

  2. Beautiful read. Often, the father gets neglected in the twist of time.

The member least available at home, and busy gathering the livelihood for his family, missing in the family pictures, and sometimes not available to take the children out for fun after having promised them.

And by the time they grow old, they have missed out on most of the lovely smiles from their children while competing with the rat race.

The father does everything to make sure children get their dreams and yet quickly forgotten when the children fulfill those dreams.

People don’t realize what a father is, until they are thrown into his shoes… 🙂

  3. Such a lovely post! It’s so true that we are what we are because of our father. He’s the one who would be always there to guide us to right path. In the same way we should also be there for him and with him always.

  4. Wonderful quotes. I like this quote from Jim Valvano “My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me.” as well. Happy Fathers Day
