There was a time when wooden shelves were used to store albums, those treasure troves of memories, but not anymore. There was a time when all important correspondence and documents were placed in desk drawers but not anymore. There was also a time when every musical album, every movie, was stored individually but again not so anymore. Today, everything is stored at one place, everything in one, all important, storage disk. In this era of technology, storage devices are like those faithful sidekicks you just can’t do without.
Your laptops, desktops or phones all have limited storage, bound to run out one day. It is a universal and undeniable truth just like the fact that the sun rises in the east. And even if you chose to cram all your data into oneof these, the outcome would most certainly be slow performance. Thus, very likely increasing you frustration with the said device. So, what do you do? Well, very easy actually, use a good storage device to store your documents, music, movies, serials, photographs, videos et al. Yes, it’s as simple as that.
Now, S and I share a laptop at home. It has been the case ever since the spare one, well, decided to stop working. Now, consider this, S’s data and mine in one laptop. Let me also tell you what that includes, movies, music, documents, my blog posts, countless television series etc. none of which either of us want to delete.
So, you see how much important additional or rather portable storage is to us?Now, there were a lot of options in the market undoubtedly. But after our experience with the previous portable external drive which let’s just say burnt a hole in our pockets and fizzled out in a very short time, we decided Seagate was what we wanted to go ahead with.
We needed something thin and light which assured ease of carrying it around. With the amount of travel S does that was absolutely necessary. With that out of the way, the capacity and specifications took top most priority. And after a thorough search we zeroed in on Seagate Backup Plus Slim. It’s interface, capacity, warranty, length, weight and width, everything felt right after a research spanning at least a few weeks. Of-course, I also liked the shades it came in but who would explain to S how important color is to selection?
Now, just one external drive is not enough and now we are looking towards purchasing another one. Well, yes we just don’t like deleting anything as you can very well make out by now. And this time around, again, we have zeroed in on a number of options from Seagate. Well, maybe I’ll let you know once we make a decision?
But before you go back to doing whatever it was that your were prior to reading this post, tell me have you ever used a Seagate external drive? If yes, I would love to read about your experience with the same.
Hey Naba, in todays times, we all need external drives to safeguard our Data. I initially got my previous laptop's hard drive converted into portable one, but it shows some error now, and hence all the data stored in it is no more accessible to us! ***Sigh
Last year I bought WD's external drive and it is doing pretty well till now! I will keep in mind Seagate's name for next purchase…
Yes, I had that too Shesha..I wonder how come we need so many drives!
